Via PCC (PCLinuxOS Control Center) --
Menu > More Applications > Configuration > Configure Your Computer
Give your root password when the window opens up and asks for it.
When PCC opens, choose Hardware from the menu on the left.
In the main pane under Manage Your Hardware, on top left, click Browse and configure hardware.
A window will open with a pop up message over it saying, "Detection in progress." When the detection is complete, the window will have a listing of hardware categories in the left pane. Click any one of them to see what is listed under that category. Now click on the/a listing to bring up its information in the right side pane.
Example: Click Videocard, click the entry under it to show the information - here it is C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430]. At the top in the right pane, the vendor and description will be listed - here it is Vendor: nVidia Corporation Description: C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430]. Further information is provided below that, but this is the information that identifies the hardware.
Menu > More Applications > Monitoring > Systeminfo
When Systeminfo opens, click the second entry from the top, lshw. Click OK. Give your root password when asked. An extensive list of your hardware will be opened in a tab of your browser.
