Touchpad problems Compaq HP cq-62-228dx

History: During test2 install, I got a no-tap function of the touchpad working by installing some app from synaptic. Pad worked fine.

I thought after the 2011.6 install it was also ok, until some updates.

At first I tried several synaptic touchpad installs, but the commands did not show up even in a terminal after rebooting, such as synaptiks.

Then I found this post referral http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,93473.msg785223.html#msg785223

I got no results, except #3 presented a black login, and no startx available. Maybe a typo on my part.

What is interesting, on boot, when selecting the user to login, the tap function works!
Once the user desktop loads, the tap function is disabled again...

Help, was planning to deliver this to the longtime owner today who gave me one more chance to run it on PCLinuxS

Update:
I booted with the current livecd, and pad is fine.
I copied the 50-synaptic.conf to the hard drive, but no change from the above problem.
Then I remembered I had desktop candy effects on. I switched it off, and still no help...

I am having the exact same problem. After restarting my HP DV6000 so any help would be great.
