got LXDE mini on all my stuff ..works out the box on all ..even my old Advent lappy with only 256mb ram  .. after finally cleaning it out it does not over heat ..

Is there a partcular card you need to test out, i have a collection of diffent laptops and older gxf cards that I tend to try out stuff on, its just getting time to try them all out thats the issue here

If there is one in particular I will see if I have it

Running liveCD:
No issues booting, youtube video works fine (well, laggy, but that has been the case with every OS that's ever been on here, with 8 mb Intel video chip, i'm surprised it ever played at all.) Did not test with DVD as the liveCD is using the ROM right now.

Sound wouldn't work at first (though strangely enough the *beep* at the boot choices screen worked), ran alsaconf and then turned all volumes up in alsamixer and sound came on just fine.

I have a partition open on this machine that I could install to if need be for a complete test, obviously I doubt seriously anyone needs detailed info on this obscure old dinosaur  , but i'm just sayin' it's an option.

.........Only a LIVE lxde 2011.06 CD report = another seniors machine, running lxde 2010.12-on hd, for basic usage.

Whitebox: {i think - Asus MB} VERY SNAPPY!

Intel Pentium III - 1200 mhz.
Memory: 512mb (2-256)
Ethernet: Realtek RTL-8139  on 1.2 dsl connection.
Sound: VT82C686 ac97 - snd_via82xx[alsa]
VIDEO : {onboard}  CYBERBLADE/i1 (Trident)
hd: Quantum Fireball 20g ide  (sole distro)
monitor: 17" sony lcd - 1280x1024 res.

...all basic tests work suprisingly fine.  ....seems to work {significantly} faster than some newer machines - even using the live cd rom....!  
Client keeps a clean environment - and cleans dust out quarterly.

Downloaded and installed. Only one glitch so far: temperature monitor not working. Displays NA in the panel. Never had this problem in LXDE in Unity or ExpressLinux. Installed lmsensors fro Synaptic. Still not working. Maybe its not finding the sensor to display. Default setting is to automatically find the sensor. I am not seeing anything in my /proc directory where it usually is. Any help? Can't wait till Gnome comes out too! Thanks.
