After updating to 5.0-5, German localization (firefox-de) 5.0-2 doesn't work anymore, so everything's in English.

EDIT: Disabling and enabling the language pack didn't work either.

man, you ruined it, we could have had double flame wars in this thread, you were supposed to say something like "firefox ate german translations!!! " or "i updated firefox and to my horror, it dumped by beloved german to that ugly sounding english language" :D ..we could have had an english/german flame war ontop of the current one, if the current one is a flame war.
.. 3 things are certain in life : death, taxes and software bloat ..
.. tell me something i don't know, something i can use as i struggle to reason with the world around me ..

ThirdOfSix,

Yes, but it is a little ridiculous that Mozilla have gone to V5 in such a small amount of time. It's not fair on add-on coders. Firefox's main selling point is the add-ons.

Actually, all they did was change the number.  Firefox 5.0 is what would have been Firefox 4.0.2, until they decided to change the way they number things.  Changing the way they numbered it would have almost no effect on add-ons. unless they claimed to only be compatible with 4.x and below.

And here I though a web browser is ... for BROWSING the web ie the internet, as good as Firefox is (along with the other bloatware that is chromium and opera ) it is not a web browser - not by the classical definition anyhoo.

These are more akin to WEB or Internet user ENVIRONMENTS - almost capable of supplanting the need for an actual Desktop Environment.  the average size and requirements of these applications are similar to that required to run a OS of about 10-12 years ago

I love firefox but like an application to do one thing, and do it well.

Oh, did someone mention a flame war.... LOL

Some truth in that, and I "believe" from Firefox 7 (possibly 6 as well to a degree) is going to concentrate on Web App usage. And I won't be at all surprised if they develop their own "OS" a la Chrome
