FYI, I did some upgrades from the testing section, rebooted, and found I could
not get the
X server to start. I logged into another installation, checked in
Synaptic and saw I'd
missed a
couple of packages. I listed those I thought I needed, then using my above
Reply #27 as a check list, mounted the
borked system's / partition,, did the
chroot, started the network from there, and
installed the
missing packages with
apt-get, left the
chroot environment, rebooted to the
previously borked system, and am now making
this post from that
now fixed system.
I just used
my own post, to you, to solve
my own self created problem.
