Hi,
A version as of June 19ths is available for test:
pclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-test-2011-06-19.isopclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-test-2011-06-19.md5sumBonsai is a minimal version meant to build -- I hope easily -- your own on top of it.
This time tint2 is the default panel, python is gone... webcorefonts as well. Midori also, replace by Jumanji, with some pre-configurations.
The kernel is the latest bfs available : 2.6.38.8.pclos1.bfs
All is up to date. The size of the iso is 248 MB.
Thanks for your feedbacks !
Regards,
Mélodie
PS: Next versions will be available on a new web space, here: http://melodie.tyruiop.euexactly here:
http://tyruiop.eu/~melodie/Downloads/ISOS/PCLinuxOS_cli_iso_and_childrenjust for the fun... now I'm learning to use the shell zsh :
http://tyruiop.euPar défaut, un shell zsh via une connexion ssh.
which means that when I login there with ssh I have to use something new. As Neal uses to say in his signatures. "So much fun !" ^^
Hi,
Bonsai as of July 15th, 2011 looks almost ready. Who wants to test it ?
Here it is:
pclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-2011.07.15.isopclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-2011.07.15.md5sum272 MB, up to date... and in my virtualbox refuses to present the "Eject LiveCD then press Enter" message. Could you tell me how it goes for you ?
Else, here is an image:
Hi, Bonsai July 22 is here:
pclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-2011.iso 265M
pclinuxos-openbox-bonsai-2011.md5sum 68
Several services deactivated : ntpd, apmd, numlock, laptop-mode.
Up to date... there is a new upower package arrived in the update. (Or was it libupower ? Both are very recent anyhow)
Synaptic desktop file modified to get rid of the ldconfig message (was due to the option "gksu -u root /usr/sbin/synaptic", replaced by "gksu -l /usr/sbin/synaptic", indicated by siamer).
I think it's about all.
Good testing to all ! We should be close to the next final.

Hi,
Date : 2011 July 27This is the Bonsai setup with
Factory as Timezone,
kernel 2.6.38.8.pclos3.bfs again, and an
additional cdrkit package so that wodim (console CD burning) can be used from within the distro. It appearantly has not added weight to it (263 MB).
There are also
2 more right-click menus in the main menu,
PCC and Synaptic.

Until I know this, I anyhow want to say a special thanks to ongoto for his research and feedback. This issue seems particularly nasty to me.
ongoto : thanks a lot !!!
Thanks also to all who test and bring feedbacks for this little flavor. It's a great team !
