Would you try it, and for the testers who got shutdown issues, would you install the kernel 2.6.38.8.pclos3.bfs after installing to hard drive (without uninstalling the other) and tell me how it goes ? I will also try that tomorrow.

Aw, do we have to?  ;) Oh, okay. Where's the link?  ;D

Hi djohston,

The download link is at... http://tyruiop.eu/~melodie/Downloads/ISOS/PCLinuxOS_cli_iso_and_children/

Melodie

The shutdown problem seems to be gone.  I installed kernel 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs and it is OK.
ctrl+alt+del does nothing  ???

Hi ongoto,

To get Ctrl+alt+del to have an action, you can try to configure it in the PCC > Hardware > Video : there is an option to make it active. What do you wish ctrlaltdel to do ? Shut the machine down, kill X, or reboot ?

Only tar notices the timezone.  The install was not affected.  Shutdown doesn't appear to be affected with either kernel.

Salut

That seems quite good. There are a few errors produced by draklive-install... such as the failure on unmounting the install directory. I guess once the shutdown or reboot is performed the halt script will take care of that.

What are the specs of the machine on which you had the shutdown issues previously ? Do you think it is related to the specs (even considering you found broken parts in the halt file... as in some macihnes we do not meet with this issue)

Thanks !

I "metalicized" the default wall in keeping with the current PCLOS trend. See if you like.

That begins to bug me. The command is the one recommanded by siamer, in the synaptic.desktop file, in the rc.xml and in the menu.xml (the new entries in the right click).

humm... maybe not.
Quote
# grep synaptic home/guest/.config/openbox/menu.xml
               gksu synaptic

Have you started it from the right-click main menu ? If so, can you just tell me if you still get this ldconfig error message when you start Synaptic from a USER console typing this:

Quote
$ gksu -l synaptic

?

Thanks !

You brushed background : yes, it's a good idea. What about joining the artwork team ? :)

LKJ,
This means the command I added in the right-click menu in menu.xml is the guilty... probably. I will just correct it in guest home, /etc/skel and /root.

Thanks,
Mélodie

Hi again,

I wouldn't take it directly, as Timeth and Archie offered to make the future new theme. Neal also sent me some name logo artwork he did. This is why I will invite you to present it here, if it is ok for you: Wish a full theme for PCLinuxOS Openbox 2011 (full and Bonsai).

I hope to get full themes for both Bonsai and full, and will install them at same time, even if it is for next quarterly. If they are ready before, maybe someone will be willing to package them so that all can get it.

Thank you again. :)

okie doke  ;D
I have a question and I don't think it's Bonsai specific but how do I get pcmanfm to remember the size I make it? everytime I open it I have to resize it and it drives me crazy  :D

edit: here's another pic to look at  :D

LKJ, I didn't know that file managers could do that. You could take a look through the options "pcmanfm --help-all" and if none allows to do it, you could suggest this feature at pcman's place : http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=156956 (feature requests).

yes actually most file managers can do it, even pcmanfm and there is something someone told me I need to do, something about deleting the ~/ conf file but I had forgotten. I'll find it.  ;D

Hello,

I have installed the last uploaded to my machine, then installed the latest kernel and once rebooted to it, no more problem. So with the version installed to make remasters, I have installed kernel 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs again, and once done, cleaned, remastered once more more more... and installed to the pentium 4. After installing from pendrive, did a shutdown : it didn't reboot. So a little later I booted the machine to bonsai latest, and finished install. Added the gkrellm Jeff, told me about, and also testdisk, (for fast test) and the ldconfig message error didn't appear. Then I shutdown.

It didn't reboot since.

I'll send this version to the web space where you can download it, very soon and let you know when it will be ready.

I hope this is THE last for this quarterly.

Regards,
Mélodie
