Melodie,

Clementine - needs an URl handler to implement http, this is to play radio streams.
Trying vlc next to see.

Hi,

Ferdes, Clementine is not installed to Bonsai... I don't know what a "URI handler" looks like ? Is there something special you want me to do so that it works in it ?

PS: someone nearby whispers to me that I might suggest you to install KDE ^^

PS-2 : :idea!: Install Radio Tray ! It's a Great Super Tiny program !

Hi,

We can't say now which one is correct or not. I have used one then the other... for the same reason.

At the beginning we had : "gksu -u root /usr/sbin/synaptic/" the siamer explained us at the testers mailing list that it was not correct because in one case it was full root and not in the other and that we had to use "gsku -l /usr/sbin/synaptic". So did I and the ldconfig message was gone. But then it came back in one of the machines so I changed it again and removed the "-l", after a look into the man...

Please, could you try one, then the other, and tell me which one to setup for all ?

Thanks, and good night to all,
Mélodie

Mélodie,

"gsku -l /usr/sbin/synaptic", seems to work for me.  I've installed several programs and no idconfig message has appeared.

Jeff

Posted a question on usenet - Clementine.   Probably a gstreamer package missing.
I'll let you know when they reply then.    Old vlc is working great.

Ok Jeff. So what was it that I had set up for this one test ? just "gksu /usr/sbin/synaptic" ? Is there anyonelse who can bring feedbacks on the "ldconfig not found" post-install message ?

Ferdes, VLC is not that old ?! We just had an update lately ! :D

Thank you, and good night to all...  or good morning to who gets up now. :)

#(re:vlc)

Anyway, Clementine needed "gstreamer - soup", should be a Clementine dependency no doubt.
Doesn't give package name in error message.

Hi Ferdes, FYI this is an opportunity to bring it back in the broken packages or the software debug area. You found out, I'll let you go there, if you don't mind and agree to take care of it... :)

Thanks,
Mélodie

Sure, the gstreamers req'd don't equal the gstreamers in dependencies, or packages provided then.
I'll post a message in broken packages then.

Also need to write a bugzilla to xorg in a week or two if updates don't fix these font displays.

Neither is due to Openbox in anyway.

I'll get both of them done here eventually.

Gstreamer neon plugin needed to play internet radio.

gstreamer0.10-neon   0.10.22-1pclos2011

*edit* Just saw FF's post, I guess soup works too ;)

neon does it here, don't have soup installed, wonder if there's any advantage of one over the other?

Yes, soup therefore could be better.    Neon=25kb and Soup=35kb approx.

Hi,
On the thread I opened to talk together about the "Last choices" to be done for Bonsai, which will also be the last for all Openbox for this summer at least, ongoto told me about the Timezone problem which triggers a "timestamp is in the future !" message in the machines of the persons living more East. Instead of setting up to Paris or to Chicago, New York or even elswhere, I decided to try "Factory". It's been some time I was wondering what is "Factory". Here it is:
http://userguide.icu-project.org/datetime/timezone

taking a look at this page it seems to me that the system will adopt whatever hour is setup in the BIOS. Here it looks like this is what it did. Do you think that is right ?

Regards,
Mélodie

Hi, a new iso is coming, with Factory for timezone, 2 new additional entries in the right-click menu, (PCC and Synaptic), additional program : cdrkit so to be able to use wodim. The kernel is again the 2.6.37.4-pclos1.bfs. The login with credentials is now removed after install...

Would you try it, and for the testers who got shutdown issues, would you install the kernel 2.6.38.8.pclos3.bfs after installing to hard drive (without uninstalling the other) and tell me how it goes ? I will also try that tomorrow.

It's almost ready, only 4 minutes left to finish the upload.
Enjoy !

The shutdown problem seems to be gone.  I installed kernel 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs and it is OK.
ctrl+alt+del does nothing  ???

I ran draklive-install from a root terminal and here is the output from the install:
