3 Nasty Bugs
« on: June 18, 2011, 03:13:25 PM »
Hello all

What are the nasty bugs preventing the release of the PCLinuxOS XFCE version?

Any work-arounds available?

Well, if the OP locks the thread now, he'd have caught the bugs ... but I think there'll be more. ;D   ;D   ;D

3 bugs.

1- Take the time to think about how to make it work right.
2- Take the time to code it so that it should work right.
3- Take the time to test it and make sure it works right.

Only 1 bug here. "Time" a bug I can live with.  ;) ;D ;D

Three nasty bugs, sittin' on the wall.

If one nasty bug should accidentally fall...

the other two would reproduce and give us 10 nasty bugs sitting on the wall ......  ;)

I don't think those bugs are nasty at all .....  they are of the 'good bug' type  :D

Other bugs as well!  :o (not just us  ::) :P)

Texstar told there:

No it has not been officially released by PCLinuxOS because of 3 nasty bugs that need to be addressed.

and

LXDE is fairly stable. XFCE 4.8 has some bugs I don't like. When they are fixed, the XFCE 4.8 packages will be moved into updates. Being the nice guy that I am I put the 4.8 packages up in a separate area for those who might want to use them fully aware they might not be 100% ready for primetime.

But as far as I can see it, you should be able to do an upgrade (but remember: there are some things that won't work properly):

I installed of the latest  pclinux phoenix livecd (march 2011) and did regular updates. I thought i got xfce 4.8 but no. I needed to add the xfce to the repo section to get xfce 4.8.

This is a little quirky. i also have a box with lxde - Do we need to 'lxde' to the the repo section as well?
