What kernel are you running?

I had issues with 2.6.37.4, now running 2.6.38.8 and all is fine.

Might be a issue with kernel&xorg.
All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.

I suppose it's KDE fault. I guess it wasn't tested enough with CPU <> Intel Core.

Friend of mine had an old P4 system. After upgrade from KDE 4.5x to 4.6x KDE suspending to memory and disk stopped working.
echo -n mem > /sys/power/state and echo -n disk > /sys/power/state worked.
I made a new KDE profile. Suspending to memory started to work. Suspending to disk did a hibernate sequence, screen went black but neither disk nor screen turned off.

The system was slow so I convinced her to upgrade CPU to Dual Core. With new CPU sleep and hibernate work without a flaw on the same system.

Just wanted to add that my C610 stopped hibernating as well - it's not doing anything when I issue pm-hibernate and when i do pm-suspend it suspends but on return the screen (display) is corrupted.

Kernel 38.8 bfs. Gnome.

Hope this helps.

You might try going into the pcc - Local Disks - Manage disk partitions then umount the swap partition, format it and remount it again and see if that does anything for you.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Thank You for Your reply kind Sir.

I did as suggested. Unmounted and formatted swap partition and then mounted it again.

I tried pm-hibernate. Didn't worked at all. I tried pm-suspend-hybrid and it did not worked also. After that I tried pm-suspend and it did worked partially like before. After I tried to bring the machine back I got this:

Discoloration and vertical stripes are moving when I move the mouse. Mouse is marked by 4 or 5 short horizontal stripes one above other.

I sshed to the box (I guess wlan works fine after supending) and rebooted it - looking at it works fine. After reboot I tried the pm-hibernate. Didn't worked at all. I tried pm-suspend-hybrid and it did not worked also.

Regards and thanks again.

Anything more I could supply? Logs? Command outputs?

I hope to be a part of solution.

Andy
