My problems gone away too. Working nicely now, LiveCD boot / environment seems fast.
Only one strange thing though. Previous remasters picked up my Toshiba Tecra M11 display perfectly (1366x768) but last few remasters boot into 1024x768. Thus screen resolution detection has regressed a little. It's fine though, just install and config in PCC->Hardware->Video and it all works like a charm.
My whole system seems to be running very well again. I had a bit of a bad stretch when I did some major updates (glibc and so on) when I had VBox installed, 3.2.12 (generic .run) from Oracle's website. The system was slow and crashing on several PCs, more with Intel laptops than AMD desktops though. I just put it down to heavy movement in prep for 2011. Removed 3.2 and installed 4.0.8 et voila, magnifique!
All running well now! Just waiting for 4.6.4 to hit my mirror and I'm sealing a release (corporate re-spin + lots of my own features to systematize our office).
