[SOLVED] Can't make libreoffice run in lxde
« on: June 07, 2011, 12:15:51 PM »
Just re-installed again lxde after formatting and tried to run lomanager, it did its job but under "office" menu nothing appears.

I searched the forum and read that there has been some issues with this and downloade an offline version of libreoffice 3.2 but I do not know how to install from there.....

I need an office suite for work purposes and I'm a little bit desperate.

Can anybody help?

Thank you.

From a Konsole try running

libreoffice -writer

If it starts it may mean that LibreOffice hasn't populated the launch menu

Were you fully updated before running lomanager?

The newest version of lomanager installs version 3.4.0 of LibreOffice. I don't know if an older version is likely to work anymore.

Guys,
I believe Nippur isn't fully updated and doesn't want to be.

Nippur,
Remove lomanager via Synaptic. Reload the packages list. Install the newer version of lomanager and run it.

You are wrong Neal.I re-installed this afternoon formatting and accepting that my touchpad won´t work anymore as it should.I updated completely and runned lomanager.
I´m going now to look in synaptic if I have 3.4 or not.

Thank you anyway  :)

I did remove lomanager from synaptic, it was 3.4. Immediately rebooted to make sure everything was ok.Wnt to the office menu and libreoffice was there, I did not downloaded again.

Thank you for the help
(when the touchpad issue is eventually solved I will be a happy man!)

 :)

I went by the information you posted in the other thread. Neither there nor here did you say that you were fully updated.
