That's an issue with a wireless driver.

was just speculation. it's odd. I am running 4 other PCLinux versions currently in VB and have run every version that's made both full and mini. It's the first time I've run into this. ???

Hmm...... perhaps there is some corruption in the virtual machine?

I suppose it's possible. Although everything else seems fine. It's almost like there is something that resets things to a default but all I have to do is run the configuration and just keep hitting next. I don't have to change a thing. I suppose I could do a reinstall at some point. I have yet to try the WMii DE. I think it may be a bit too hands on for me.

edit: as it turns out, all I have to do is right click on the network applet, disconnect eth0 then re-connect.
re-edit: thinking about it, every version of PCLOS I've ever had takes a few seconds to connect but this one shows as connected as soon as the desktop draws.

Hi,

I had the same issue as Jeff in the Openbox test preversion (http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,92334.msg774887.html#msg774887) and I did like him : turned off speedboot in /etc/sysconfig/speedboot (edited from "auto" to "no") and the following boot I didn't have to reconfigure the wifi. Now it works like a charm.

Speedboot may make the boot a bit too fast, the wifi connection seems not to have the time to be started. Try it : and let us know how it goes for you ?

There will be some differences in the next release (Lighter and more versitile window managers - I have "transparency" with my 2mb neomagic card on an ibm 600 thinkpad,  an even more 'frugal' tiling manager (deliberate move away at this time from WMii) , slightly different app's potentially)

It wil all work well together, and i hope to be able to replicate keybinding across the included window managers (one part of the work in progress)

Things are moving, slowly but moving...

One of the biggest changes with -Light moving on is that I have set a minimum spec (although it will install on lower spec with work).

-Light will be able to install comfortably on a  Pentium2 128megs of ram. - I hope to work on another iso to take care of P2 64mb at a later date (after I learn packaging...)

In WMii You should be able to rename any given wall paper as .WMiiWallPaper and will be set by loging in and back out

For the other environments try using 'feh'

Jase

Great news!! My Acer is ready for testing.. ;D ;)

ok

UPDATE:

Euclid-WM is configured and ready to go YEA!!

FVWM- is alllmost there - its craazy configurable and i am slowly getting there - I would like to change the keybindings to mirror the quicklaunches in euclid-wm without loosing the abilities of the native keybindings
