Hi   to all,
I have jsst upgraded to mylivecd 0.9.4 and tried it on my laptop (which is more important to me than the desktops) but the created and burnt iso does not boot.
I get dropped to a shell. The iso will not boot on a desktop either.
Gezza.
ps.. The FullMonty is to big to create an iso from,I think.
Gezza

Not sure what your problem is but it works with everything I've thrown at it and I've done probably at least 10 different installs from the ISO I made on different computers. The only thing in the recent updates to mylivecd is to exclude junk that doesn't need to go on the LiveCD such as icon-cache files, synaptic root logs, apt cache bin files that get re-created when you first run synaptic, some kmix config files so you don't get my sound configuration on your LiveCD etc...

Tex, Hi
We can confirm that 2010.12 will not upgrade to 2011 and create a livecd that is installable.
We started with 3 laptops, HP Dv7, Compaq Presario B3800 and an Acer Aspire 9305, installing 2010.12 on all.
Doing a full update and upgrade to the 2011 system. Not one of the Laptops could produce a useable boot disk.
We the created a 2011 system on one of the desktops and fully updated it. Made a livecd and install it on each  Laptop. now...each laptop can produce bootable/installable iso's.
We are very happy little laddies.
Without doubt, PCLinuxos is the greatest and best distro around.
Great work guys, and we are sorry to have caused so much trouble to all.

Just a small addition--- mylivecd generates an error on starting:--Subroutine run_program::formatError redefined at /usr/lib/libDrakX/common.pm line 8.
Your thoughts on this matter greatfully received.

I updated yesterday at lunch as previously stated, then started mylivecd before leaving for work.  No errors reported.  I booted the subsequent ISO in VBox, then installed it without a single error.  I can't figure out how you got where you did, but maybe you are not completely updated?

What version are you using luikki, I just updated mine today to 0.9.4-4pclos2011. Now I get this error, not in the previous version.

I noticed luikki is using the --xz specifier and you did not Linuzoid... Could have something to do with the kernel you have installed.  xz compression is the default for 2.6.38 kernels.

I used the --xz parameter with an original 2010.12 kernel. mylivecd ran, but the iso produced would not boot.

Just to clarify - it is simply a warning and does not affect the ability to create or run a LiveCD. I will disable the output on the next update. It does not show on my system. :D

Hello again djohnston! If you're running kernel 2.6.33.7, which I believe is the kernel on 2010.12, you have to use --lzma compression.

I don't need no steenking Windows --tuxalish
