A new livecd made on this machine which passes the media check and boots just fine on this machine gives the following message when trying to boot in virtualbox:
This kernel requires the following features not present on the cpu:
pae
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
As can be seen from the result of running uname -a shown below, the machine is running a PAE kernel.
xxxx@asus_kde4 ~]$ uname -a
Linux asus_kde4 2.6.38.5-pclos1.pae #1 SMP Tue May 3 10:53:28 CDT 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[xxxx@asus_kde4 ~]$
Is this a problem with virtualbox?
As I usually do, this is a test of running the livecd.iso file directly in virtualbox without burning a disk and then loading the disk in virtualbox.
This is using the latest version 4.0.8-1pclos2011 of virtualbox.
The system running kde was fully updated moments before creating the livecd.
