[SOLVED] Need a version of xsane built with gimp support

Any repositories out there where I can find one? Seems the version that comes with ZenMini 2010 was compiled WITHOUT it.

I've installed Zen on an old laptop that my wife will be using as a scanning station. I thought it would be nice to streamline the process and let her scan right into Gimp, since she'll be touching up all the photos she scans in.

Would that be xsane-gimp from the repo?

When I initially tried the 'Create' in Gimp, there was no Xsane option. I searched the net and found articles mentioning using a sym link. I set one up but it still didn't work. In a terminal I typed 'xsane -v', and it indicated it was compiled with no gimp support. So I fired up Synaptic and removed gimp, xsane and xsane-gimp. I had assumed xsane-gimp was the 'Gimp' part that made the two work together. Anyway, after reading your reply I re-installed those three from the repositories and everything now works. I don't know why, but I'm happy

If you have not updated the complete install through Synaptic, then you need to do so to ensure that all packages are in sync.

Installing single packages without being updated can cause problems.
