Hi pclxd3os

Bit more info please.

Did you install Virtualbox using getvirtualbox from the repo?

If you haven't already done so you could try rebooting and see whether that helps

PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Hello,

if you are trying to boot a guest OS from usb this is not going to work, as far as I know this is not supported from VirtualBox.

Open VirtualBox Manager (host GUI interface),

Top menu -> File -> Preferences -> Extension.

what you have here ?
should be "Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack 4.0.8r71778"

You mentioned in your OP

Download the version of virtualbox oracle.
Installing guest additions.
Install the virtualbox extension extension pack

I don't think you should need to install the extension pack as I believe? Tex modified the getvirtualbox script to install the Extension Pack whilst Virtualbox 4.0.8 was being installed.

Are you adding your USB Stick using the following method - see image:

PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

How is formatted the USB stick ?
Alternatively can you try a different USB stick ?
