From the early advice you gave me, I understood that all those warnings would go after a re-boot.

My facts are that I have re-booted and successfully done another re-master but the warnings did not go after the reboot.

From what I can tell syslog should be called before crond

When I followed your order of entering the commands manually I got those warnings too  ;D, which I got tired of and therefor I always enter syslog as second command, not 3rd. That way I do not get those warnings.

My question am I to believe I am the only one who gets these warnings?

wedgetail,
you get these harmless warnings only when remastering, else not, ok?  ::)

Yes and so far only seen it in KDE, but I will just slip into my MiniMe and see.

Yes successful re-master and same warnings, not as many.
