OpenBox Mini- no sound with cdp
« on: May 16, 2011, 09:06:42 AM »
Installed most recent version of OpenBox Mini on my Dell Optiplex GX110 [ PIII, 667 Mhz & 384 MegRam ]

Then installed cdp to be able to play a cd under a terminal-  The "graphical" representation, using the terminal, shows that the CD is playing-- but no sound.

My guess is that since I installed the mini version the sound may not be included- went to hardware section and it says that a sound driver is installed for the onboard sound- but not sure what else to do to get sound going?  It did give me option to check for "flash sound"- but had no idea what that was.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello:
Can you get sound from the browser while connected to a website that has a video on it?  Also if you have a mp3 file on your computer, do you have sound when playing the file?
Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
However, wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad.

I am limited by my CD ROM to use mini-versions only on this dinosaur- so as the mini version, there is no video player installed
However, I did install audacious and its dependencies to try to play mp3 file.  Again, it looks like it is playing- but no sound.
