WebDAV and "mountpoint not found" error
« on: May 15, 2011, 01:41:50 PM »
I am new at this.  I have a PackageCloud account with a url of alan.packagecloud.com and I've created a /WebDAV/ directory on it, as per the site's directions.
I've created a directory in my home directory named packagecloud to serve as the mountpoint on my system.  Then, using the PCLOS Control Center's webDAV tool, I have configured the server as http://alan.packagecloud.com/WebDAV/
the mountpoint as  /home/{my useraccount}/packagecloud/
set the username and password options
When I attempt to mount this, I get the error message  "mountpoint not found" .
I have tried to websearch this error message in connection with WebDAV and was unsuccessful.  I would appreciate some direction as to what I am doing wrong.
If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And when I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?
That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow.

You're commenting one a one-year old thread (well, one year, minus 6 days).

You would be better served to start a new thread, and include as much detail as possible.  The OS has changed a lot in the past year...

Yep but i have the same problem on my "up to date" PCLOS.

Following this tutorial:

http://blog.nguyenvq.com/2011/12/08/mount-box-net-on-ubuntu-linux-via-webdav/

I'm trying to mount a davfs using mount, but i got this:

Quote
mount: unknown filesystem type 'davfs'

and i can't use mount.davfs2 directly:

Quote
To mount a WebDAV-resource don't call mount.davfs2 directly, but use
`mount' instead.

my last resource was use the Control center but i got the "mountpoint not found"

I don't use davfs, so I can't comment directly...

Your link sends to a "404" page... :(

"mountpoint not found" suggests that the directory you're trying to mount it under doesn't exist...you would need to supply more information (actual commands issued, exact error messages and output, etc).

I would still recommend that you start a new thread, instead of keeping this old one alive...you're more likely to get better assistance...
