Hello people Today I bought a new cel phone (Samsung Galaxy Spica GT-i5700) I am trying to connect the phone using the USB connector and nothing happens.

Code: [Select]
[@localhost ~]$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 044: ID 04e8:681c Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd
[@localhost ~]$

This Cel Phone only bring Windows software in order to transfer files, so anyone has this model and have any success connecting it?

thanks in advance!

does it have a menu to configure how the usb port is used?

most models offer 3 modes, cellphone(modem), pictbridge(print directly) and usb mass storage device

if it doesn't have that and it automatically connects to charge and nothing else i remember something about a usb modeswitch but never used it

Solved. There is something the user manual does not explain: you have to drag the usb connection icon (on top of phone screen) down and select "activate" and appears as a hard disk, that easy!

PS: I wish I could find the option "SOLVED" in my posts  ???  I have read the Help section but I must be a Knucklehead  ;D since I can't find it. thanks!
