Sirs -

OK, I am about to install the Xfce Mini to my hard drive.

I have read that the Qt codebase doesn't play too well with Xfce, and would also like to try and minimise (no pun intended) the number of Gnome and KDE libraries I install.

Can the crowd recommend (1) a photo manager (I used gThumb on my previous Gnome-based install) and (2) a media/dvd player.

Many thanks,

B.

I use GMplayer for video (works great), but the photo manager options are very limited for XFCE.  Ristretto is a nice light viewer, but there really isn't anything that comes close to something like GwenView.

Photo viewer:

     Ristretto (native Xfce app)
     GPicView (native Gtk+ app)

DVD viewer:

     Xfmedia (native Xfce app)
     MPlayer
     gxine (native Gtk+ app)

Video player:

     Parole (native Xfce app)
     MPlayer

Hope this helps!
