Alevt
« on: May 05, 2011, 11:54:15 AM »
I installed  alevt  with the intention of viewing teletext pages while using Kaffeine to view DTT channels using a USB DVD-T dongle.

Unfortunately I can get little out of alevt so would appreciate pointers ......  or at least confirmation that it works with DVB-T devices.

With Kaffeine running, diaplaying a TV channel

Code: [Select]
[user@Dell ~]$ alevt -vbi /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0
alevt: Program table overflow

That throws up a default teletext page from AleVT.

As I understand it, I should get details of what streams are available so I can receive them ......

Thanks for any assistance available.

regards.

Not much help I'm afraid but found this post about Alevt on Debian:

http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg745942.html

Alevt 1.6.2-4 only supports 16 programs, same eroor was produced on German Satellite
using "Das Erste" mux on Kabel. (This may have changed if its a later version)

Not sure which Copuntry you are in but if you can receive more than one multiplex or
satellite, may be worth trying a different satellite.

I don't have a DVB dongle so cant reproduce this.

I have only one mux available to me (Ireland) .....  and it has at least 17 channels (maybe 19) ....  TV and Radio combined.

I have also noticed that I am using version 1.61 so maybe it is worthwhile requesting an update.

Maybe you could post some general tips about how you use it .....  it might help me figure out if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks.
