Terminal not accepting input after su command. (solved)

Won't accept anything when I try to type password in yet when hit return it accepts input . I'm completely baffled !


I must be getting old folks, hadn't used the terminal in a long time.

That's normal - the password "text" isn't shown, but, as you've seen it is actually inputted.
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

You'll get used to it ... especially when you are typing in a 16-character alphanumeric password ;)

I'm sure there are others with longer passwords but my memory ain't that great no more.  ;D
