(Solved) HP PSC 2410 Printer headache
« on: May 04, 2011, 06:19:00 PM »
SOLVED: THe original driver HP PSC2400 Series was not the right driver for the printer. After reinstalling CUPS and loading the right driver - PSC 2400  - everything is fine...Many thanks for all who helped.

This is really getting frustrating. I decided after all the reloading  and reinstalling of the HP drivers and cups, to reinstall the whole system. Using version 2010-7 everything worked (No updates). But then I updated all the files and now the printer is doing strange colours again. Dark colors and reds are not true. Sometimes if you print a picture it looks like the negative. I am open to suggestions. The printer is fine when I run Microsoft Vista and print the test page. I need direction as to what to do next.

Help please

I followed Ramchu's instructions, although I did not delete the ppd files, and it worked for me with my HP PSC 1507.

I had this problem previously, but had gotten it working again until the recent update reverted it back. Ramchu's method worked for me, and did not affect scanning. All works fine now.
BTW, Thanks Ramchu for the tip!
