Hi,

I have two printers, a networked Brother laser printer (HL-5040) and an USB Canon Pixma MG6150 multifunction printer. When I print both of them sends an additional blank page. How can this be fixed? Any idea?

My PCLinuxOS is the latest and the greatest installation with all updates applied.

Cheers,

Bela

Hello,

try to check printer paper size options, your printing behavior is typical when i.e. printing an A4 page on a printer set up for Letter size.

Hmmm... Interesting. Both are set to A4. If I print the test page from the CUPS web admin panel, it prints the same page on both sides of the paper - I guess it is because duplexing is setup. But if I print a test page from the MCC (printerdrake) it spits out an extra blank page.

Another issue that I encountered is that in the meantime I turned off the Canon printer. When I turned it back on, even after about 10 minutes, the printer config was lost. I had to reconfigure the printer to make the teat print.

Your template or default page setup may have a page break as part of its test list of commands and functions.

Hit ctrl A (select all) and type some dummy data. With the cursor immediately after the last visible character, hold down the delete key for a few seconds. Then try and print.

This happened since I reinstalled PCLinuxOS in June last year. My installation prior to this had no problem. This happens when I print a test page from printerdrake, or if I print *any* document from *any* application. There is no hidden page break anywhere in sight.

Would it help if I removed and reinstall all printing related software packages?

Maybe it's just a Banner that's printed out each time (I've no experience with it, so I don't know if it's possible to get empty banners)...

Open PCC => Hardware => Printers (I've updated to the last config-center)
Then right-click your printer, select Properties >> Policies >> Banner

See if you selected one of that options??

When printers are reset to factory settings, they are sometimes set to print an empty separation page after each print job.

Hmmm... I ran all the updates because there was no right-click. Nice change in PCC.

I don't have any banners selected.

This has been happening since I did a complete reinstall of the OS.
