Is there a 'sticky' or a written document on how to install a new kernel? I have been searching this forum without success for a procedure on doing this. Am I missing something here? Is it as simple as installing one via synaptic and rebooting?
It has been a few years since I did a kernel recompile and install (RedHat/CentOS), so maybe it has become less of a chore. And as a distrohopper, I haven't stuck with one distro long enough to feel a need to upgrade the kernel (PCLOS has cured that habit for the most part.)
Currently I am running 22.214.171.124-pclos6.bfs on a Toshiba A305 laptop and have experienced some powersave issues, so I thought a new kernel may help.
So, where do I look for kernel upgrade info?
