ASUS eeePC Series (addendum)
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:05:54 PM »

Hi,

I think it would be useful to know that on the ASUS eeePC series to boot from
a flash drive or a USB device the <esc> key can be pressed at the eeePC screen during boot.
This will show a screen showing all drives connected.   Simply selecting the desired
drive will boot from that drive.   This is an option for perhaps a one-time boot
without  making a BIOS adjustment as stated.   The boot on my computer (eeePC 900)
is usually an  hd0,0 boot for Grub if not a LiveUSB from an iso.   Other computers (non ASUS) usually use F12 for this purpose.

Perhaps admin could add this post to the previously locked message regarding booting with
the ASUS eeePC netbooks or laptops from the USB.

FYI
ASUS EeePc 900HA netbook  1.6 Ghz Atom CPU  1GB RAM
160 GB internal HD    Seagate 250 GB USB portable drive
Intel ‎Mobile 945GSE Integrated Graphics Controller
Atheros AR242x/AR542x Wireless Network Adapter
Intel (N10/ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio
Dynex 5-Button Wired Optical Mouse
LXDE

A very good point!

I had totally forgotten that you can pick a drive that way on the EeePC. I always go to the BIOS but will try to remember this tip for the future!
