Hi all

I just encountered a problem that has got me all puzzled about.

I was away from home for Easter - visiting a friend and there using his Mac as a router to connect to the internet. There I updated to the current kdenetwork-4.6.2-2 -package (unable to force downgrade to the previous version). After returning home and booting up my own router and trying to connect to wlan, it fails althoug I can see all the available networks in the area.

I did a quick search and found this thread: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,85465.0.html - but unfotunantely with no help.

In there it was suggested to
Quote
1. type this command "service syslog restart"

2. Attempt to connect

3. Wait for 3 seconds and then type this command and report its output "cat /var/log/syslog | tail -n 20"

Did it and played with the second command. After rebooting the router third time I got this:
Quote
cat /var/log/syslog | tail -n 20

Apr 24 19:00:27 localhost ifplugd(eth1)[7116]: Initialization complete, link beat not detected.

Could the reason for this lie in the updating process which was not done in my own connection at home?

I can plug in to the inernet via cable, but I'd hate to use it longer since the router and my computer are at the other ends of the living room and common-law wife hates me when she sees this cable running across our living room.

Some specs:
Using HP Compaq 615 laptop
Broadcom Corporation BCM 4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (not running on ndiswrapper)

What else information can I give to you to help me on this case?

Thanks in advance for any possible replies.

Update: Got the wlan connected by using Wicd. Strage that Knetwork broke the connection.
