T6, you're right, of course.

What both Nish and I mean is the same kind of action on the "Restart Computer" button, and the options would be Grub's boot menu items.

Now I found the solution (thanks to the OpenSuse forum).

Start "Configure your Desktop", select System Administration => Login Screen and go to the "Shutdown" tab. At the bottom is Boot Manager. Select "Grub", and after restarting KDE its there.

Great day in the morning! I thought this feature was lost forever. Thank you so much for how to get the disclosure triangle back on to the restart button.
It is a pleasing way to multi-boot.

Thanks,

Hugh

UPDATE: after looking at the screenshots of those with the options some more I realized you need to have check options to confirm shutdown.  I normally shut that off first thing because I hate the delay.  I  now must decide if having the reboot options are worth that stupid delay.

And another note, with knowing more terms I was able to Google much more concerning this "feature" however, no posts mentioned keeping the confirm in there.

You can always use the shortcuts available (or reconfigure them) for logout, shutdown and restart.

The standard combinations are:
  • logout      => ctrl-alt-shift-del
  • shutdown => ctrl-alt-shift-pagedown
  • restart     => ctrl-alt-shift-pageup

These bypass any confirmations.

Thanks for the KB shortcuts.  May use them because when I want to shut down, I want to shut down  >:(

But the windows and other partition reboot options are nice to have also especially right now as I try out all things KDE4 on a test partition, I reboot to it a lot.   ::)
