Back in Time KDE4 GUI not in PASS repo
« on: April 23, 2011, 01:17:35 PM »
Hi,

just installed KDE MiniMe 2010.12, updated all 500,000 packages  ;) via PASS, all is perfect. It IS upgradable  ;D ;D

One little annoyance though: cannot find package "backintime-kde4" on the PASS server, only backintime-gnome seems to be there.

Am I blind or is it really not there?

Drakbackup - which I believe may the same thing aguila.

If you add the word special to your "section" line in the Synaptic so it reads something like

main updates nonfree kde4 special

Do a reload and Drakbackup should appear (if memory serves it adds it to Config Your Computer)

I was just in Synaptic and found backintime

Name = backintime

Desc =  BackInTime is a simple backup system your desktop

There is also  backintime-gnome (GNOME GUI frontend for backintime.)

Note - if you enter the search term backin that should bring them up

Hope that helps a little

Hi menotu,

thanks for the suggestions.

I have Back in Time installed on two other machines and they have the package "backintime-kde4" installed in Synaptic. Just checked, again.

Just set up this machine and all went fine but "backintime-kde4" is not in the PASS repo  ??? ??? So now I have no GUI for Back in Time.

From their website http://backintime.le-web.org/ :
Quote
Back In Time is a simple backup tool for Linux inspired from “flyback project” and “TimeVault”. The backup is done by taking snapshots of a specified set of directories.

Currently there are two GUI available: Gnome and KDE 4 (>= 4.1).

Any ideas?

TIA
