Hello everyone. Multiple PCLinuxOS Box - I need to know what to edit to call the first boot menu, instead of the last boot menu of the last PCLinuxOS i installed. I keep getting a new menu each install. What gives? It never had problems including windows in its menus. Shouldn't this be easier? :)

that depends where you installed the boot menu

there should be only one but it seems that you created one with each install you did

why do you have multiple installs?

when i want multiple desktops in pclinux i just install one and then add task-gnome or kde, xfce, lxde and others to have multiple des and avoid a mess like this

"Well as a newbie i expected to screw up one or two of them, so that is why i made separate partitions"

when i was a newbie the only way to destroy pclinux was to do partial updates or install packages outside the repos and that didn't killed machine immediately, just messed things and i could fix most of the problems

"Also last time i tried installing task-everything i think i installed too much, is that possible?"

i installed all of the des a year ago(the ones with task-), then i removed all but two

system still working normally

" I can easily start over, I am assuming you recommend it"

no, you are assuming too much, really, too much

"can I delete partitions starting at the last one and leave the first two, kde full monty and kde, then fix the booting?"

you can delete the unused partition if you backup your personal files first

i haven't done what you need so can't guide you on how to do it but i believe that it should be very easy to do, delete files and edit the main one

" This box is to be a demo to show PCLinuxOS to people that visit."

my demo box is my netbook, i carry it around and do whatever i want, including open 100% infested of virus devices and clean them, teachers love me  8)
