Crackling / Popping sound
« on: April 19, 2011, 12:20:06 PM »
Ok so i'm having a sound issue, I am using PCLOS kde 2010 fully updated as of this post, its the same issue I had with mandriva 2010.  I can hear a very annoying crackling sound thru my speakers.  I've used phonon vlc and xine.  I've tried alsa and pulseaudio and no change.  The weird thing is that if I play a song thru amarok or a video or anything that uses the sound card the crackling goes away while the file is playing and continues afterward.  If you need more info such as specs or anything just let me know what to include and i'll happily include it. I didn't see a similar post by searching (actually all the searches came back with zero topics) and the wiki is giving me 404

Yeah i tried that.  I figured perhaps the distortion was coming in thru my mic but its not the case. My mic is muted in alsamixer and i'm still having the problem
