OK, hopefully should be enough, check this, (of course substitute the username with your username):
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,87141.msg725826.html#msg725826

AS

AS, tried it, though didn't hold much hope - remember, creating a new user did not solve the issue.

You can try removing everything in the .dbus/session-bus folder

You can also try deleting everything in /tmp /root/tmp and /home/your-name/tmp then reboot.

It that doesn't work you can also delete everything in .cache .config .local folders after backing them up somewhere.

Texstar, desperately trying it all, no dice.

How can getting one ^£%*& application started give me so much trouble, grrrr...

Cheers!

Ok, I have come across another one! (Hopefully this might help the troubleshooting.)

Code: [Select]
gksu -a getvirtualbox
Segmentation fault

When logging in as root to start with, all is running:
Code: [Select]
su
Password:
getvirtualbox
0
Job completed
Job completed

(The pop-out does give errors, though - saying installation complete and installation failed at the same time. Foresight alone knows what is going on here...!)
EDIT: VirtualBox does work after a reboot, though...

Cheers!

Yes, I think so. There are three of them, right? I don't mind trying again...?

Did try again (as per your earlier post) - still no change.

Cheers!

Eureka! After today update, FF is running again! (AND my HP printer is printing black again.)
On the other hand, it broke the latest (270) Nvidia driver (see seperat post http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,90668.0.html).

So either the latest update has fixed my issues, or it has been the Nvidia propriety driver that has been the culprit from the start.
(If the latter, FF will likely break again when we get the Nvidia driver fixed...  ::) )

Cheers!
