Problem with Acer Aspire 4253 [ solved]
« on: April 09, 2011, 05:05:45 AM »
Im a noob when it comes to Linux.

1. My ATI6310 screen resolution cant be set to the optimal 1366x 786. I'd update all packages and installed the latest driver from ATI (11-3-...) but in the graphic control panel its set to ATI 2000 HD. How can I change it?

2. My wired nic (ar8151 in windows) is not working..

thanks.

the driver you mention is present in synaptic, please use only drivers form synaptic package manager

the driver must be set after installed, there is many posts mentioning some steps required to set it correctly

Now im almost happy.  :). Next, how to fix the problem with the NIC?
