Plymouth Themes

Hi Guys!

Just two questions...

1) Can I download any Plymouth Theme and install it or only those from Synaptic?

2) Of those listed in Synaptic is there anywhere where I can see what they look like without having to download the lot and trying each one out with EZSwitch?

I've finally settled on ZenMini as my desktop of choice as a 'not so noob'!

Thanks for that timeth... that link was just the job, 'though I don't know why that post never came up in my search results.

There are some nice themes there, but regarding my first question I do have this rather cool plymouth theme I downloaded (for Mandriva) called Dragon which I'd like to try to install.  The readme says I need to have "plymouth-plugin-script" installed.  I got Synaptic to download what seemed to be the nearest match to this but still couldn't get it to install using "-Uvh /path-to-the-download/dragon.rpm" in a terminal.

Not sure whether I'm using the right command (I'm fairly new to Linux and complete NOOB at using the terminal!)

But the output suggested I need some other stuff... perhaps the PCLos script I used from synaptic was wrong... I don't know.

Any ideas?

It is advised that you not install outside RPMs. These can cause you problems, and it is likely that no one here will be able to help you. If you want the plymouth theme and have a download link for its source, you can make a request for it in the Package Suggest section of the forum. Be sure you read and follow the rules posted in that section.

Thanks for that advice Neal...  I'll do just that then everyone can have a look!
