Sound problems

Hello!
Questions!

1-Hardware Features:
Intel hda
Phonon Engine: Vlc

1-I have problems with the out jack, headphone failure.
     I need to hear the microphone input
     On another pc I remember that the software could change that!
    But I think the mic is mono right?
 

2-I use the amarok player.
     When I try to put the equalizer in amarok do I have the following error:
     Phonon your engine does not provide support for the equalizers.

3. "I seek balance in kmix controls but I do not see

Try alsamixer for access to all the different balance controls etc.

I searched in synaptic alsamixer
I found alsamixergui

Is this it?

alsamixer will launch in a konsole.
alsamixer-gui gives a GUI to it .......  but I honestly prefer the clarity of the presentation in the konsole.
It provides access to to the sliders for the hardware.
What the OS selects as the default hardware is outside of its control.

You have used   F5  to see all of the sliders and mensured that the MIC input is not disabled?

If you have more than one sound device you can also specify which device's controls to show ......

alsamixer -c 0 .........  the first 'card' ........  1  for the second 'card'.

I used to use   gnome-media   to control the default hardware but now have moved to Pulse Audio and use    PulseAudio Volume Control ......
