One last problem, I am getting msgs from synaptic that it cannot download all the files from the pass server, which leaves me without the apache stuff.  So my web page is offline.

Is this temporary or what?

Cheers, Gene

That means I was syncing the repository. Try it again now and it should go through but hurry cuz I'm about to sync more packages!!!

I just did, got an md5sum missmatch, I'll try it about every half hour or so.

Thanks & Cheers, Gene

More specifically "2010/base/pkglist.main: MD5Sum mismatch"

Still bad at 10:40 EDT.

Thanks & Cheers, Gene

I found an update repos utility that I let run through all its speed tests etc, it asked if I want to keep the pass, I answered yes both times and at the end chose not to overwrite my sources.list.

But either a coincidence, or that fixed it.  apache is installed and working. <http://gene.homelinux.net:85/gene>
