Desktop Icons Move / Disappear
« on: April 01, 2011, 11:08:34 AM »
Yesterday when I booted up, all the icons on my desktop had all shifted into three columns on the left side of the screen.  They had been a single row across the top and down each side.  In addition, several of the icons were duplicated.

While rearranging the icons back to the original condition, all the icons on the right side of the screen disappeared and everything locked up.

?????????????????????????????????

Any suggestions?

Can't believe I got no comment on this.  I have reinstalled PCLinuxOS LXDE several times and this still happens.

I delete an icon from desktop and several others disappear.  Deleted icon still in the Desktop folder but dow not display on the desktop.  Very difficult to create an icon on the desktop.

On occasion, icons rearrange themselves in columnson the left side of the screen for no apparent reason.  This is very frustrating.  Don't think the LXDE desktop is very user friendly or stable at this time.  Going to XFCE for a while, then probably back to KDE with all its overhead.

Sometimes things happen to a couple of users that doesn't happen to the rest of us. In order to fix something for a developer they first have to be able to duplicate the issue. They can't fix what isn't broken for them.
