touchpad (solved)

I download some touchpad software from synaptic.Can not get them to load (qsynaptics)

What do you want to do with qsynaptic?
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

Install 'touchfreez' from the repositories. It will serve your purpose.

Take a look at TouchpadToggle in the repos. It allows you to toggle the touchpad off and on.

I'll give them both a try.do I need libsynatics installed ?

I like KCM_Touchpad,but it keeps crashing.

synaptiks was just what I wanted.
I think you'll like it.  It can be set to automatically switch between the touchpad and a USB mouse, as you plug and unplug it.  Which was why I installed it...
