LibreOffice installed but nowhere to be found??? (SOLVED)
« on: July 01, 2011, 05:14:49 PM »
I downloaded the 2011-6 version and installed it on top of the 2010. I have everything working fine, wireless, all my icons are there but libreoffice is missing. I did use libreoffice manager, installed it, it is saying that it's install but i can not find it. Any clues?

Thanks

I installed 2011.6 over the top of 2010.12 (both of them, KDE versions) as you did. I then selected Libre Office Manager from the Office button in the applications menu at the left of screen. It went away (for a long time) and downloaded its stuff. Now, when I click on the Office button in that same applications menu, it shows all of the various Libre Office modules.

Because I use LO calc frequently in keeping the home accounts up to date, I firstly unlocked the widgets, right clicked on Libre Office 3.4 Calc (spreadsheet) and chose to add it to the desktop. Then I locked the widgets again.

I am sure that you will get it sorted.

Good luck

I would try using LibreOffice Manager and let it remove it and reinstall it again

You may want to completely remove it - Reboot and then reinstall

Try opening a terminal windows and enter the command

/opt/libreoffice3.4/program/swriter

What happens? does it open?

lomanager 3.4.0 does not work anymore because it will try to download version 3.4.0. This LO-version no longer exists on the LibreOffice download server because it was replaced with the updated version 3.4.1, which is properly dealt with with lomanager 3.4.1. You see the logic? Hmm? lomanger-<version>  <=> libreoffice-<version>
 ;)

What strikes me as funny is I removed then re-installed lomanager like 2 days ago and the version texstar mentioned was not available. Rechecked today and suddenly the new version was available. So thanks to whoever added that cause got it working now :)
