urllib.py comes from python-2.6.6

rpm -qf /usr/lib/python2.6/urllib.py
python-2.6.6-1pclos2010

I have been caught up in my annual leave time, and have also been trying to understand the code here... along  with testing this and working on another possible PCLinuxOS based project or two

Open in new window possible now.  It's not a child window. It's a new instance.  Cost is one process per open window and no cookies.  
Also, for this to work, you must have a link in /usr/local/bin named pchammer and pointing to where you install your copy.

I would not be surprised if Sproggy rolls out a test RPM of this pre configured...

You mean something like this?   :)

su
cd /usr/local/bin
ln -s /usr/path/to/nameofyourcopy.py  pchammer
exit

To launch from the command line or in the code or anywhere else, the same link can be used, regardless of any name changes or relocations that might occur.
