Getting odd error message from Krusader (SOLVED)

When I try to start root mode krusader from the tool menu in user mode Krusader I get this error message:  Cannot execute command ' '/usr/bin/krusader --left=file:///home/shutterbug/Documents/FF%20BACKUP --right=file:///home/shutterbug/.mozilla/firefox/3686n9fc.default/ScrapBook''. Starting root Krusader any other way  it works just fine.  I didn't have this problem prior to upgrading to KDE4.6.  It's a very minor or trivial complaint but I'd still like to know if there's a way to fix it. Ya, notice the double single quotes surrounding the command line.

I just created a user action to mimic that line without the double single quotes and that works.

Also, another annoying thing, if you are viewing a long list of file/dirs, when you delete an entry, it used to just
delete it from the listview and then closeup the empty row. Now with the 2011 version update, it resets the listview
back up to the top.  I went back to the 2010 rpm and that one does not do that.

YW. I think I even associated my UA to a toolbar button as well. However, the UA, while it works for standard dirs from the non-root krusader passing (I usually start root-krusader that way) it does not do well if one of the lists is showing the contents of a archive file. but other than that, it works ok.

I knew what to do but didn't know how to do it.  Your tip helped me to accomplish that but in a different way.  I know I can always launch from the panel but sometimes it's more convenient to launch root mode from the menu bar at the top.

As long as I've been using PCLOS I still find it hard to find ways to help since there are so many other experienced and knowledgeable users here.  Once in awhile I find a topic that I have experience with and try to help.  Even so I seem to always be on the receiving end rather than the giving end when it comes to help.  I know how good it feels to help someone else and slowly but surely I'm getting there.  You really helped me out on this one and once again, I thank you.

But all actions show up in the 'configure toolbar' dialog on the left side. Just take out on the right side the existing button for root and sub yours. But I think you already have done this, so, I give you my action here:

Tooltip: Runs Krusader with current dirs as root

Description: Mar. 12, 2011 - I made this useraction because Krusaders own is broken. It surrounds the command in two single quotes, which confuses the system.

Command: krusader --left %lPath% --right %rPath%

Exectution mode: Normal
Command accepts local files only

Under advanced properties, make sure 'run as different user' is set to root.

I set it up but the icon still doesn't work.  How do you assign this u/a to the toolbar button?  I've tried everything I can and can't figure out how to assign it.  It works fine from the drop down u/a menu so if it won't work from the icon it's not a big deal.  Thanks for the tips.

Hello, John.  I had previously positioned the icon on the toolbar and the first time I did that it worked fine.  After rebooting on a different day the icon gave the same result as trying to launch root mode from the toos/start root mode krusader.  From the UA toolbar dropdown it launches just fine whether using the commands you cited or the command that I was using.  I thought your description of configuring the icon meant that you actually configured the icon itself.  In that case it already has been assigned by Krusader to launch root mode and thus cannot be changed.  Oh well, thanks for trying.  It's not a big deal as I have two launch options now instead of only one.  Your first tip was excellent and still works but the root mode icon is contrary so I've removed it and will use one of the other options.  Happy computing to you.
