Neal, thanks for your help
I did everything you said:
Video card descrip: Mobile 4 series Chipset Integrated.
Media class: VGA compatible controller.
Misc
Module: Card: Intel 810 and later.

I'd set monitor and resolution to 1366x768. But then I can't logout: Menu > Logout > OK > Nothing, not logout. So I can't check if the new settings works. I had to shutdown as root from a terminal. I was looking for a command to logout from the terminal, but I didn't find it.

The keys <Ctrl> + <Alt> (hold both) and <Backspace> tapped twice will log you out, if the menu entry isn't working.

Fixed!
Ctrl + Alt + Backspace² and the settings configuration have worked out. Also I can logout from the menu now.

-The shortcuts  fn+f7 or f8 for decrecing or incresing  the screen brightness don't work. So I've installed xbacklight and do it from the terminal. Maybe there is a way to set a keyboard shortcut to the command xbacklight? I'll google it.

-The volume key doesn't work either.

But I've installed Iced Latte  :D

Thanks you Neal!

You're welcome. About sound, in PCC > System > Manage system services, stop alsa. Then in terminal as root, run alsaconf.

Maybe that is in the case of not having sound at all, or not? I have sound, but the key for the volume doesn't work.

So that didn't help? Hmm...... install alsamixergui. Run it. Click the lock icon under the Master slider to unlock it. Adjust the volume with the slider. Click the lock icon to lock it. Check to see if the volume can be changed normally now.

Well, this is a bit embarrasing for me. I had no pay attention to Volti before because I've been more worried about the look of Fluxbox than the sound issue :D Thank you. Now the key multimedia works fine showing a nice popup level indicator in dark grey color.

In Fluxbox I started modifying the Carp style, making it darker, 1px for  borders of menus and windows, no windows decorations and the Terminus font for everything. Now I want to change the gtk theme for some other that allows me to modify its colors, so everything feet together in a flat dark grey.  But I've seen there is something else I should install in addition to some gtk themes and I don't know what is it. Something from Gnome maybe? I've installed Lxappearance too.

I'm really liking Iced Latte.

From this statement, it is very hard to determine what it is that you want. Details, please.

Yes, it was not well explained.

Fluxbox has styles for the menus and titlebars, and also gtk themes for the look of apps.

First I had edited one of the styles that comes by default, it's called Carp.

Second, I wanted to change the gtk theme that comes by default, it's called Raleigh. That way, style and gtk theme are with the same colors. For doing that I had to install Lxappearance and more gtk themes from Xfce (I don't like Gnome).

Third, the list of new gtk themes previewsly installed were then in Lxappearance, but it was not possible to change the Raleigh theme for any of the others. Checking again for Xfce in Synaptics, I found and installed a "gtk-xfce-engine" (I thought it could help). After that I was able to change themes, but they were not sticking, they were gone after a restart.

Fourth. I found in other forum, someone solving something similar with just adding "gnome-settings-daemon &" to the autostart file, so I didt it in my autostart file too.

Now it seems like this problem is solved with that script in the autostart and the gtk-xfce-engine. Then I want to see if this solution works when trying to install themes from box.look.org or deviantart.

I've tried to do a better explanation step by step. This topic is a bit confusing between styles, themes, engines... and my lack of computer jargon. My English is self-learned and not very good, sorry for grammar mistakes.

Ok while I have a reasonable signal,

-light is yet to have a theme for any but the WMii sessions, to switch gtk themes there is an executable called switch2 Which should be included on the iso.

I had started to theme iceWM although I am no themer.

The next -light will hopefully have some home grown apps included also.

Ok back to the holiday stuff......

With this, it seems you are going beyond the scope of this thread/PCLinuxOS-Light (Iced Latte).

I'd recommend starting a new topic. If you need further help, that is.

I just installed Iced Latte using draklive-install -t on my Toshiba 4090XDVD (Celeron 400mhz-192mb-6gb Hd 2mb video) laptop. Im posting this right now from said laptop. Anyways I just like to say good job. This is a very good work in progress. This is very comparable to "young doggy" which is what seems to run the best on this old laptop. It is finally nice to have a working PCLOS OS again on this laptop. Now I just need to figure out how to change the wallpaper. :)

Thanks for the praise there will be another release (soon I hope, a few things keep me away from persuing this as i want to ).

There will be some differences in the next release (Lighter and more versitile window managers - I have "transparency" with my 2mb neomagic card on an ibm 600 thinkpad,  an even more 'frugal' tiling manager (deliberate move away at this time from WMii) , slightly different app's potentially)

It wil all work well together, and i hope to be able to replicate keybinding across the included window managers (one part of the work in progress)

Things are moving, slowly but moving...

One of the biggest changes with -Light moving on is that I have set a minimum spec (although it will install on lower spec with work).

-Light will be able to install comfortably on a  Pentium2 128megs of ram. - I hope to work on another iso to take care of P2 64mb at a later date (after I learn packaging...)

In WMii You should be able to rename any given wall paper as .WMiiWallPaper and will be set by loging in and back out

For the other environments try using 'feh'

Could you give me an example pretaining to IceWM. I did some searching, but I didn't find anything that would work with IceWM, but that could just be me being a noob.

I have a couple other machine I'm going to pull out of the closet and load Iced Latte on. They are low spec too.

1) HP w/AMD K6-2 500mhz 192mb ram SiS Chipset 2-8 mb shared video

2)HP w/Intel PIII 500mhz 256mb ram On Board ATI 8mb 3D video - Also has agp slot.

I have a bunch of sdram chips laying around that I could drop the ram specs on those machine if it would help for testing.
