There are 21 folders labeled 'index.html' in /home in ZenMini.  Can they safely be deleted without interfering with access to the repo?
Thanks.

This should normally not be possible. Have you used your install by login to X as root:
* all the time
* sometimes
* most of the time

??

What do theses folders contain ?

Sorry, melodie.
These folders began appearing in /home during and after the period we were changing apt sources to find a working repository.
As I have mentioned, there are 21 of these and opening them opens a firefox browser window to various web sites such as heanet, ibiblio etc.  I'm just concerned that deleting them will cause a problem with access to the repos, since they appear to be 'sources' links.

Hi,

Very strange. Just open a console in /home become root start mc and select them all with the "Inser" button placed on each line one after the other, you can change line with the up or down arrow from the keyboard, and then to delete them you just have to press F8 and confirm.

melodie, I just bit the bullet and deleted them all.  Rebooted and opened synaptic.  And it loaded just fine.  So apparently these folders can be removed without impacting synaptic.  Whew!

teddyred, I'm happy that you could solve this strange issue. You would just have to add "(Solved)" in the title of your first post now, if you don't mind. :)
