I recently did all my updates to the new pclos kernel. All went well and ran nicely. I am running An AMD Atlon x 64 4600 socket 939. I install kernel 2.6.37.4-pclos1.a64. What a performance boost. Much faster boot up, opening of apps. Speed and general responsiveness, a marked improvement. So if your using an AMD dual core, give this kernel a try. Sure made a difference to my machine. Cheers all.

I am running an AMD Atlon x 64 4600 socket 939 board myself, and, like you, installed and ran the 2.6.37.4-pclos1.a64 kernel. I found that the PAE kernal boots faster, and the log in screen on the 64 bit kernel was slower than the PAE. Personal choices, I reckon. My machine runs fast, stable, and great on the PAE kernel, and my system monitor sees both CPUs, and I like that.
