As stated in the subject, my sound on my Dell Inspiron 1564 works just fine. However, only in PCLinuxOS is the volume too low to be of much use. I did all the obvious, such as opening a terminal and going to alsamixer to make sure master, speaker and others were at max. I also did the same via KMix and yes, the speaker mixer is enabled within KMix. Is there a way to "boost" the volume beyond the "100%" that is nowhere near what the speakers are capable of under other distros?

Edit: I did enable PulseAudio and restarted the computer. It's a bit better but curious if there are other steps that may help render louder volume? Still searching via Google for KDE items as well.

Edit: Another restart and I'm getting a lot more volume now. Unsure why, but who cares, right? It's working on this video very well (and Neal Peart is absolutely amazing so what a way to find out you fixed your sound!) Credit JohnW_57 for the IRC suggestion to enable PulseAudio to fix this. Thanks John!
