Still no magic powers here.   ;D

Maybe it's just too busy, I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks, you guys have been a big help. I'll just have to bite the bullet and do a CD reinstall at some point, I guess, probably sometime in the next week or two. Hopefully that will be the last one.

@YouCanToo: those links didn't work. I get this about halfway through:

http://kde3.pclosusers.com/pclosfiles/pclinuxos/2009/base/pkglist.main: 403 Forbidden
http://kde3.pclosusers.com/pclosfiles/pclinuxos/2009/base/pkglist.extra: 403 Forbidden
http://kde3.pclosusers.com/pclosfiles/pclinuxos/2009/base/pkglist.nonfree: 403 Forbidden
http://kde3.pclosusers.com/pclosfiles/pclinuxos/2009/base/pkglist.kde: 403 Forbidden

maybe the server permissions are off? thx.

ok I have re uploaded everything. It should work now. Please let me know if you have any problems.  You will need to change synaptic to the following

URI:   rpm   http://kde3.pclosusers.com/      <---note this line has changed
Distribution:   pclinuxos/2007
Section(s):   main extra nonfree kde

Click on your own link... http://kde3.pclosusers.com/ and you'll see you are where you should be after navigating to pclinuxos/2007. There is no pclinuxos/2007, just the RPMS.* sections. They are listed as Index of /.

It's fixed, sorry for the oversight.

Works for me. But like old-polack suggested, it appears to need at least one parent directory for the RPMS directories to be able to work with synaptic.

It should be working now.

Yup. Just cruised all the directories and it seems to be working fine. A little slow from what it used to be, but functional. :D

Thanks a million - that should tide me over until I can do the upgrade. Appreciate it!

Bingo!  I'm in!

YouCanToo, thank you so very much for doing this and for sticking with it.

BTW, did the finances with your original service provider ever get straightened out?

Yes, and I am no longer with them. At least things are running until I find a permanent solution.
