Synaptic Not Showing List of Installed Software [Solved]
« on: March 28, 2011, 10:57:32 AM »
This was previously working, but now if I click the synaptic icon, the status only shows items
All and Not Installed.

There were options of local installed, Installed and others.

I am using the Heanet mirror.

From a terminal:
rpm -qa  (still shows a list of installed packages).

With Synaptic Gui, File , History also shows (by date) list of installed packages,
but not under status.

I have restarted, tried a different mirror but still no list of installed software.
Any ideas how to get the list back?

HI Uncle,
Thanks for the reply, your screenshot is how my synaptic used to look.
Now all I see is this (link image below):

For example package a2ps is already installed

[anc@orac ~]$ rpm -qa | grep a2ps
a2ps-4.14-2pclos2009

Not sure why this has happened.
