Damn this keyboard, something just cleared all my text had already typed, do clue as to what key combo does that, but can it be disablled forever?
To continue with the original post, I just had a long power outage, so since I have UPS's, I did a graceful shutdown to wait it out.
On reboot, 9 of my ten picture settings for the screens was restored, as was the terminal sessions, all of which were reopened on screen 1, they used to be restored to the screens they were on. Lots of Muttering and genaeology discussions about that but it can wait.
But more importantly the task manager panel at the bottom of all screens was gone, nothing but the 2 cashews. So I added a new default panel and positioned it to the bottom of the screen and adjusted the height to suit these ancient eyes. This includes PC icon that is supposed to bring up the text style menu tree, the 10 panel 'pager', then some blank space used to show whats running, the 'Info" box, and the digital clock. Which had, because its the default, lost all its settings too.
So, how do I re-enable the missing menu for the 'PC' icon?
And how do I convince it to actually save these settings?
Thanks & Cheers, Gene
